One of the most popular animated series of the moment, Avatar the Last Airbender episodes are loved by both kids and their parents, blending stunning visual effects, elements of global cultures and positive messages in an exciting adventure story.
Taking place in a magical world created by Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino, Avatar the Last Airbender episodes follow the story of the eponymous Avatar, a unique individual in his universe which is populated by characters called Benders. These Benders are able to alter just one of the four elements – fire, air, earth or water, but Avatar is special as he is the only one able to manipulate and change all four.
Not only that but in the Avatar the Last Airbender episodes he is the link between his world of the spirits and our own, very ordinary world. According to the legends of Avatar’s world, there can only be one Bender able to manipulate all the elements alive at any one time, and once he dies he is born again in our universe.

That is the stunningly imaginative world where each episode is set – but all is not well among the nations which represent the elements; the Fire Nation, Air Nomads, Water Tribes and Earth Kingdom. After living happily together for thousands of years, the Fire Nation has suddenly decided to attack and try to conquer its neighbors, throwing the four groups into conflict.
The current Avatar, 12-year-old Aang, finds himself at the center of this escalating war, tasked with restoring peace to his university while still trying to be a normal kid.
Influenced by aspects of Far Eastern culture, Avatar the Last Airbender episodes are full of messages about the importance of friends and family, cooperation and courage in the face of adversity. And the combination of magic and everyday teenage problems is proving successful with audiences too, with the series having won prizes at the Kid’s Choice Awards and even the Emmys!
